I was recently asked by one of my clients, "How do you review the year and set out what you are going to achieve?" A good question and I shared that this year I had done something slightly different.
I found myself resisting the usual, jumping into my goal setting and decided to take time to reflect and look first at how I wanted to be when I was doing whatever it was I decided to do.
So, I took my values, see above and broke down some tangible ways that I could demonstrate I was actually living my values, not just laminating them and displaying them on the wall. Here are some examples:
Kindness:
Setting and intention daily to be kind to myself and others by:
Offering a safe space to open things up.
Taking time to really listen and understand.
Notice what is happening for me in my body and mind before responding.
Stop and think before responding.
Do not jump in and fix.
Curiosity
Setting and intention daily to be curious with myself and others by:
Opening up spaces to reflect and notice what is going on in our body, mind and spirit.
Ask big, open questions; don’t jump in, allow all thoughts and opinions to formulate.
Ask others for their expert opinions.
Do not be afraid – try it and see.
Transparency
Setting and intention daily to be transparent with myself and others by:
Asking questions that support deep thinking and the exploration of the truth.
Offering the truth with good intention.
Be curious when you think there is more.
Illustrate the truth in a kind way that supports justice or the listener.
Respect
Setting and intention daily to respect myself and others by:
Remembering that I am worth it and deserve rest, love, peace, good health and abundance.
Accepting others, as they come.
I am very excited to be stepping into 2025, it feel like a space of huge potential and know that when I have my values and my Circle of Allies to support me and my decision making, I will be just fine.
If you are interested in values, coaching or setting intentions for 2025 please do reach out, I’d love to hear from you.
